Emily Cox - Head of Centres

Hi, my name is Emily and I am the Head of the Bicester Children’s Centres. I lead the team of Centre Coordinators who manage the day to day operation of the Four Bicester Children’s Centres; Brookside, Glory Farm, Ambrosden and Heyford/Caversfield. I work closely with the Coordinators and wider Children’s Centre staff team in the planning and development of centre services across the Bicester area, offering support and guidance where needed.

I have worked as a Children’s Centre Manager for the past 4 years in Milton Keynes before starting in post as the Head of Centres in Bicester. My professional training is in Social Work and I have a special interest in children with disabilities / special needs having worked as a Social Worker and an Educational officer in this field.

As a team we are all very passionate about providing early intervention support to families across the Bicester area, working closely with a range of agencies to ensure families’ needs are met.

Marion Aslett - Coordinator

I feel lucky to be in a career which allows me to spend time with children and families on a daily basis. I work across the two Bicester Children's Centres alongside Teresa Regan (Coordinator). It is my job to ensure:

All sessions are high quality
Staff are offering a high standard of care and provision
The buildings are safe for all to use

I also spend some doing outreach work supporting families who are experiencing difficulties.

Teresa Regan - Coordinator

Hi, I'm Teresa. My role at the Children's Centre is Coordinator, I draw on my own life skills to help families on a day-to-day basis (and I get paid for a job which I love doing). I am the Champion for Domestic Violence covering all four centres. I enjoy the variety that every day brings, visiting families at home as well as in the centres.

I share the responsibility with Marion Aslett on day to day running of the Childrens Centres Services, ensuring we meet and maintain high standards. Most of all, I am a really good listener, I don't have all the answers but I will do my best to find out who does.

Sam Mahoney - Administration Officer - Specialist Area (Children's Centres)

Hi, I'm Sam - You will often find me in the main office surrounded by papers, pen in mouth, tapping away on the calculator, head down trying to work something out! Saying that, I am always happy to see people and help out where I can. My role is very varied and offers new challenges each and every day. I am responsible for the provision and overall control of all administration/secretarial and accounting procedures for the two centres.

Diane Rollinson - Administrator

Hi I'm Di, I am based at the Brookside Centre and will be the first person you see when you arrive at the Children's Centre. I work alongside Sam Mahoney assisting with the daily reception and administration duties and tasks. I will do my best to assist you during your time at the centre.

Kirsty Page - Children's Centre Worker

Hi, I'm Kirsty I am involved in a range of groups and drop in sessions that we run at the site; including the Young Parents Group, POSCh and Stay and Play sessions. I am also required to assist some families through outreach.

Working in the centre brings about lots of new challenges, it is a great team to work within and I love that no day or week is ever the same.

Wendy Gunn - Children's Centre Worker/Creche Worker

Hi, I'm Wendy and I thoroughly enjoy the variety of work I do at the Children's Centre. I mainly work as a Children's Centre worker at most of our Stay and Play sessions as well as being part of the Saturdads/Family session team. You will also find me in the crèche where, along with the rest of our super crèche team, we provide high-quality childcare for your children.

Cathy Kemp - Children's Centre Worker

Hi, I'm Cathy. I work in both Centres as a Children's Centre Worker and also do some Outreach work supporting families in the community. I really enjoy meeting new families and catching up with all the news from our parents and carers. I also co-facilitate Parenting Courses and can offer general support with the usual ups and downs that parenting brings. You will also find me at the Brookside Caterpillar Group, run in partnership with Homestart along with the Baby Group where I work alongside the Health Visiting Team. My job is great and very rewarding. Just like in parenting each day provides different challenges and that is just how I like it.

Sally Owen - Children's Centre Worker/Creche Supervisor

Hi, I'm Sally, my main job role is to lead all the creches within the Bicester Children's Centres. We also provide creches for other courses held at the Early Intervention HUB. You will also find me in the monthly Saturdads session and Stay and Play sessions during the holidays.

Julie Mearns - Children's Centre Worker

Hi, I'm Julie - you will find me mainly in crèches and the Wednesday Stay and Play session at the Brookside Children's Centre. During the school holidays you may well see me in the Stay and Play sessions. I love working in the Creche, the children are great and so are my work buddies. We make sure the children get the best care we can give so parents can leave them knowing they are in good hands.

Annie Croxford - Children's Centre Worker

Hi, I’m Annie and you will see me taking an active role during weekly Stay and Play sessions. I also work in weekly crèches at the centre and help out during the Bounce Back sessions with the younger children.

Kym Scarrott - Children's Centre Worker

Hi, I'm Kym and I have recently taken on the role as Children's Centre Worker. You will find me at most Stay and Play sessions at both Children's Centre along with the Caterpillar Group at Glory Farm and the Wednesday afternoon baby group at Glory Farm.
